This national-level mapping tool from UCSF combines an array of environmental, social, and health outcome data sets, ranking areas at the county, state, or census tract level. This article discusses how variables can be overlapped to reveal intersections, for example, the prevalence of those living in poverty and the prevalence of lead contamination from housing or proximity to toxic sites.
